Applicants are not able to upload letters of reference themselves. However, letters of reference that are sent directly from the applicant to CaRMS may still be processed, specifically when an applicant has immigrated to Canada with the letters in their possession and no longer has the opportunity to have a letter submitted directly by the referee.
If you feel this situation applies to you, you must create a placeholder for the reference in your account. To create a placeholder, follow these instructions:
- Log into your CaRMS Online account and go to My Documents section;
- From the drop-down menu, select Reference Requests;
- Click on the + icon situated under the instructions;
- Fill out the required fields and click SAVE. A unique RR ID number will be created in your account.
Email the reference letter and RR ID number to documents@carms.ca. Your letter will then be uploaded to your account.
