A Canadian Medical Graduate (CMG) is a Canadian citizen* or a permanent resident of Canada* who received their medical degree from a medical school in Canada that is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS).
An International Medical Graduate (IMG) is a Canadian citizen* or a permanent resident of Canada* who received their medical degree from:
- a school of osteopathic medicine; or
- a school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME); or
- an international medical school listed with the World Directory of Medical Schools that is recognized in Canada.
