Should I rank a program if I’m not sure I want to train there?

CaRMS seeks to protect the integrity of the matching process by requiring all match participants to behave in a professional, ethical and responsible manner. Applicants and institutions participating in a match enter into a CaRMS contract.

The listing of a program or applicant on submitted rank order lists establishes a binding commitment of a match result.

The contract (http://www.carms.ca/pdfs/applicant-contract.pdf) cannot be breached. Match contracts are binding, breaches are subject to Violation Review: https://www.carms.ca/policies
