When creating a reference request, you will notice the field "Requirement type". This field is to indicate to your referee whether you would like the letter of reference be geared towards a specific discipline or if you're requesting a general recommendation.
Programs will not see what you enter in this field. Therefore, if you chose the wrong discipline, only you and your referee will see this. You would simply need to reach out directly to your referee to ensure they’re aware of the requirement type or delete the request and create a new one.
Applicants should always refer to a program description for any letter of reference requirement.
