What happens when I assign the status ‘’not selected for an interview’’ and the applicant contacts us for feedback as to why?

This year, we anticipate that more applicants will be reaching out to programs as to why they weren’t selected for an interview. Although we cannot comment on what a proper response is, we do recommend that programs have a process in place in order to handle some of these inquiries. 

When we receive these inquiries at CaRMS, we will be first referring the applicant back to the program description to see if they can determine the reason why they were not selected for an interview. If this is not enough, we will be recommending they reach out to the program for more information. 

It is recommended that programs add a statement within their program descriptions that describes exactly how their program will respond to feedback inquiries.
