How are match timelines created and approved?

CaRMS drafts timeline options and provides them to the Associated of Faculties of Medicine of Canada’s (AFMC) Resident Matching Committee (ARMC) for external consultation and approval.

Annual match timelines follow a predetermined template, as a certain amount of days must be allotted to each phases of the match (e.g. application period, file review period, etc.). This also includes small adjustments to accommodate holidays while also considering the dates of the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) timeline.

If you have questions related to the ARMC’s consultation and approval process, please contact the AFMC.
