Why is the MINC being made mandatory in the CaRMS application?

The MINC is a valuable operational tool for CaRMS as it provides a seamless and secure way of verifying and processing applicant information and documentation. Making the MINC a mandatory field within the application is a natural evolution of its use within the medical education community as a reliable means of identifying every individual in the Canadian medical education and practice systems.

The MINC has been a part of the CaRMS application since 2008, but it has been optional until the 2021 match cycle.
