As a MINC licensee, CaRMS must comply with MINC’s Privacy Code, and with applicable privacy legislation (PIPEDA) as part of our licensing agreement. CaRMS adheres to PIPEDA, which mandates a clear and informed consent process, express consent for secondary uses of data (beyond the Application and Matching Program), and many other client and data protecting provisions.
However, our duty to our clients goes beyond the letter of the law. CaRMS values an applicant’s right to choose what is right for them, and respects ownership over their data, and this will always remain a tenet of our values. Third-party data sharing continues to be in the hands of the applicants, the data owners, to decide to opt-in or opt-out.
