Are applicants obligated to complete the self-identification questionnaire?

The CaRMS self-identification questionnaire is entirely voluntary, but we hope you will fill it out—whether you identify as a member of a minority group or not.

Our goal is an accurate picture of the current state of diversity in medical education, and this is only possible if all applicants participate.

All information will be kept confidential and held securely by CaRMS. The questionnaire collects your CaRMS ID and email address to allow us to make important connections between diversity data and other application data, but it is important to note that data will only be shared in an aggregate, anonymized format.

For more information on how CaRMS handles your information, please visit our privacy policy.
