How does the Post-match Process differ from first and second iteration?

The Post-match Process (PMP) is offered after the FM/ES match and after the second iteration of the R-1 match. This process allows unmatched applicants to submit their applications to programs that are still considering candidates.

There is no cost during the PMP as no ranking or matching services are included. Application selection is completely at the faculty’s discretion and CaRMS is not involved in this process.

During a match, program selection and file review have separate milestones, however program selection and file review open at the same time in PMP. Programs will receive applications as soon as they are submitted by applicants. In addition, interview offers are not updated on CaRMS Online – once an application is submitted, it is up to the faculty to communicate directly with the applicant.
