Before you register for a CaRMS Online account, ensure you are eligible to participate in the match and province(s) in which you wish to apply. Consult the provincial criteria for your match on carms.ca.
If you have already participated in a match through CaRMS Online, you do not need to register. When CaRMS Online opens for the match, log in using your username and password.
If you have never participated in a CaRMS match, follow the steps below.
- Visit carms.ca.
- Select the match you wish to register for.
- Scroll down and select the "Registration"
- If the match has two iterations, ensure you click on the correct "Register" button provided.
- Carefully review the detailed instructions and complete the required information to register for the match. Mandatory fields are marked by a red asterisk (*).
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email from CaRMS. Note: all registrants must create a username and password when registering, as well as choose their security questions and answers.
Note 1: Current-year Canadian medical graduates (CMGs) do not need to register.
Note 2: Those with existing CaRMS Online account do not need to register can simply log in to participate to a match.
Note 3: International medical graduates (IMGs) and Osteopath graduates (DO) are required, during registration, to transfer an MCC examination from their physiciansapply.ca account. Only the NAC, MCCQE1 and QE2 can be transferred when registering for a CaRMS Online account for verification purposes.
